Employment Testing
To help us choose the right people for the right jobs, we might require you to take an online test as part of your hiring process. During this process, we learn about you — your skills, experiences and abilities — and testing helps determine if it is equally beneficial for you to advance in the hiring process. Your recruiter will tell you if a pre-employment test is required for the position for which you've applied.
What to expect:
- You can take our online test at home or on any computer with a reliable Internet connection.
- It will take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete the test.
You'll answer questions to help us understand how you reason, draw conclusions and understand trends. We will also ask you about your work preferences, preferred work style and situations, and your interests, so we can assess your fit with the job and within our culture.
Tips:
- Choose a setting that is comfortable and quiet with minimal distractions.
- Set aside extra time so that you'll feel relaxed and can complete the test in one sitting.
- Carefully read all the test instructions, questions and response options.
- Think about real-life examples from past jobs or your current job when responding to the test questions.
- Avoid second-guessing or over-thinking your responses.
- Try your best to complete every question on the test and remember that you don't have to answer every question correctly in order to do well.
Test results
Your recruiter will inform you of your test results. If you meet the qualifications, you'll be eligible for the interviewing phase of the hiring process. If you don't meet the qualifications, you can retest 180 days after your original test date. As a testing and company standard, Progressive doesn't offer any specific feedback on your test results.
