About the Progressive Direct® Rate Ticker and Rate Comparisons
The rate ticker displays comparison rates we recently provided to consumers on our Progressive Web site (www.progressive.com). We show these rates for illustration purposes only. Refresh your browser periodically to see more comparison rates.
We base comparison rates on information consumers provide to us and on publicly available rate information for other insurance companies that is filed with state insurance regulators. The actual quote you receive from each company may vary from the rate we provide for that company due to eligibility requirements, credit history, driving record and applicable discounts.
Progressive sells insurance directly to customers online and by phone. The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies also sells auto insurance through local independent agents and brokers. However, only Progressive Direct rates are displayed in the rate ticker.
"Range of rates" is the difference between the highest and lowest comparison rates we provide to the particular consumer shown in the rate ticker. Companies not represented in the rate comparison service may offer different rates.
After receiving your Progressive Direct quote, you will have the opportunity to request comparison rates for other leading automobile insurance companies of our selection. These companies are not affiliated with the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies. Also, insurance companies not included in our comparison rates may be able to provide insurance to you.
Comparison rates are not available in all states or for all situations. For example, when an insurance company changes its rates, Progressive must wait until the new rates are filed with state regulators and made available to the public. During this waiting time, we cannot provide current rates for that company. Also, comparison rates may not be available for relatively old, or very new, car models.
In some states, we may give you comparison rates for a company that is part of a group of related companies, such as the companies within the Allstate insurance group. Rates may be available to you from other companies in that group, if you are eligible. Where we list a company trade name more than once, we will use a letter designation following each name to indicate that rates may be available from more than one company within the group. The trade names used in our comparisons represent the following:
