Throughout 2009 we shared our knowledge, resources, and time to help people with career preparation and success. We:
- collected books and school supplies for students and teachers in Riverview, Fla., Austin, Texas and the greater Cleveland area in cooperation with Cleveland's Kids in Need, the Hillsborough County Education Foundation, Operation Home Front, and the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program, among others.
- taught Cleveland teens Paychecks 101 as part of a Boy Scouts program for Money Matters National Education Day.
- worked with the Junior Achievement organization to teach more than 250 high school seniors in Tampa, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, and Cleveland key career skills, such as resume writing, financial planning, and interviewing.
- hosted 12 high school students for Jobs for Arizona Graduates, sharing personal job search stories and Progressive career opportunities.
- created in collaboration with Cleveland State University a $1,000 renewable book scholarship to help selected students complete their Master's degree in five years.
- held a Talent Workshop to provide one-on-one career coaching and information to 65 people from Chagrin Valley Job Seekers in Ohio.
