Research shows that motorcyclists are a generous group.
In 2009, we saw this firsthand. At motorcycle rallies across the country, bikers enjoyed more than 46,000 ears of roasted corn at our “Corn for Kids” booths, raising $40,000 - enough money for local food banks to serve nearly 170,000 hungry children and their families.
Also, together with the Women's Motorcyclist Foundation, we supported 12 women during their 10-day Adventures for the Cures motorcycle ride from South Dakota to Colorado. They raised $300,000 to fight breast and ovarian cancers, benefitting the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.
We merged efforts again with the Foundation for On Track for a Cure, a program where eligible male and female motorcyclists used their time on closed circuit track environments and defined courses raising money to find a cure for breast cancer. Daytona 200 racer Melissa Paris received the top honors award by raising more than $5,000 for the cause and promoting breast cancer awareness on her Web site.
Let’s continue to use our collective passion for motorcycling while benefitting others.
