Imagine you return to your car after an afternoon of holiday shopping, and there’s a fresh dent in the side. You want to get it repaired. But it wasn’t your fault. You wonder if insurance will cover the cost.

Who do you ask?


Many of us search the Internet. Others ask Dad. Some might call a savvy friend. Though the sources of information might all be different, they all promise the same thing: good advice—fast.

Progressive promises that, too. We already answer questions online and over the phone, and now we field questions from a dedicated Twitter account.

All you have to do with your question—whether it’s about insurance or a service Progressive offers—is tweet it to @ask_progressive. Then, between 7 a.m. and midnight on weekdays, our customer service reps will tweet you a response. It’s quick, and you can get accurate answers.

This is the first time an auto insurance company has offered a service like this on Twitter. We hope it helps, especially since policy renewal season is right around the corner. So when a question pops up, tweet us—we’re waiting.

I need storage insurance on a boat for damage from mother nature or vandalisim etc.,It is being stored in a rented space outside, not located at my house.

@Jiang, If the damage can be repaired (and is a type covered by your Comprehensive coverage), then you will not have to pay a deductible. Go to this page of Prog.com for more details and instructions for submitting a glass claim: http://www.progressive.com/claims/claim-glass.aspx.
