Progressive App for iPhone® in Action @ the Moment You Remember Your Bill Is Due

Posted by Brittany Ritchey on 1/28/2010 at 8:00 AM

This week, you found out how you could use the Progressive App for iPhone to report a claim and compare the safety and insurance costs of different cars. Today, here’s one more example of how you might use our App.

The scenario: You’re about to take off on vacation. You’ve boarded the plane, settled into your seat, and starting flipping through a magazine. Your mind wanders. Camera? Check. Swimsuit? Check. Insurance bill paid? Ugh. Hope the hotel has Internet.

Progressive App feature for you: Customer Services

What you can do with it: Pay your bill before your flight even takes off, using billing information you’ve stored in your progressive.com account. Then, go back to thinking about the beach!

To get more details and download our App, visit the App StoreSM. Check back tomorrow, and give us your feedback!

I just loaded the app and was pretty excited with what I saw. What would make it even better would be to be able to see current coverage information and billing history. Any chance of getting that added? Thanks, David

I don't know what they're saying about the app allowing you to pay your bill; whenever I open the app and type in my login information, it shows my account number with an arrow ( > ) off to the side, and when I click on it, it says: "Policy Not Supported: This policy type is not supported on the iPhone at this time. Please visit progressive.com to manage this policy."

@Jon, Generally, the Progressive App for iPhone supports most Progressive policies. There are a few exceptions, however, and unfortunately, it seems that you might be one of them. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused. Later this year, we'll make a couple of updates that should resolve access issues like the one you're having. In the meantime, please visit progressive.com anytime you need to pay a bill or service your policy.

I also have a policy that says "Policy Not Supported: This policy type is not supported on the iPhone at this time." What are the exceptions? What do I have that would not let me access the account on an iphone?

@Justin, Right now, if you have a home insurance policy or certain auto policies--for example, a Tennessee policy--you won't be able to access your policy on a mobile device. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please visit this page to service your auto policy online: http://www.progressive.com/login.aspx.
