As a company, we invest in the success of our communities. We support larger initiatives like our Keys to Progress® and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education programs. We also encourage employees to volunteer locally and contribute to the causes they care about through The Progressive Insurance Foundation.
We continue to devote time, energy, and resources to help military men and women facing tough challenges with vehicle donations through the Keys to Progress® program. Since 2013, we have gifted more than 600 vehicles to veterans in need.
Through the program, we donate vehicles to veteran-focused organizations as well to provide the types of transportation they need to better serve our veterans. This outreach effort also gives us an opportunity to team up with many business organizations we work with day in and day out to do something good together within our communities.
Progressive people also are passionate about participating in education-related efforts. Our STEM Progress® program includes teaching a curriculum of seven internally developed courses available for students in grades 3 through 12 to inspire them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Since 2013, we’ve taught courses to more than 30,000 elementary, middle and high school students across the country.
To support education and our communities, we also donate office supplies and PC equipment to educational institutions. Since 2011, the company has donated supplies and equipment at an estimated depreciated value of more than $468,000.
Progressive people can contribute to causes they care about through The Progressive Insurance Foundation. Established in 2001, the Foundation gives back to communities by supporting charities that Progressive people support. We consider any qualified civic, cultural, educational, environmental, health care, human services, or religious 501(c)(3) public, tax-exempt charitable organization as eligible under the program.
The Progressive Corporation contributes annually to the Progressive Insurance Foundation. When an employee gives any amount from $20 to $3,000 to a qualified 501(c)(3) charity and requests a matching gift, the Foundation commits to matching those dollars up to 100 percent, depending on the number of requests and the company’s profitability that year.

In addition to financial contributions, we encourage and support our employees giving back to their communities through volunteerism and other charitable efforts. In 2018, Progressive people donated more than 18,200 volunteer hours and collected over 34,300 items for various causes.
